I looked at your models and can see that the in both cases, initial geometry is such that it would lead to convergence issues. Ideally, the two components should be just in contact, not too much gap and not any interference, unless there is some other reason for the geometries to be in that initial state.

In the "Collison" model you have shared, there is penetration between the two bodies (as shown below)

 

The other model on the other hand has huge gaps that needs to be negotiated.

I suggest you make changes at the geometry level, such that the parts are just in contact at the location where they are first expected to encounter each other and so that there is no interference. With this initial condition, it would be easy to get a converged solution.
