No, Discovery Live is intended for rapid design exploration. Its main purpose is to provide very fast preliminary results so a user can examine several design concepts and make alterations as needed, then have a better idea of which design to proceed with. The goal is to reduce the amount of time spent waiting for high accuracy results in the early stages of the design process. Once a particular design is selected, it can then be put into a simulation in AIM or one of the other ANSYS products to obtain high accuracy results.
AIM performs more robust simulations, and uses some of the same solvers as the principal ANSYS products. The results are more accurate, but the time required to solve is much longer, and each change to a design requires recomputing of the mesh and all results, which can be very time consuming.
