As mentioned earlier, expressions can be used to define an time varying input. AIM expression and mathematical function evaluation is based on the Python programming language. The AIM expression parser supports:
- Standard mathematics functions and operators. For example:
- Standard arithmetic operators including constants and trigonometric functions, among others.
- Conditional statements.

For conditions that support tabular entries, "create tabular data" icon is present:
If the icon is not present against a particular variable, it means that any random variation of this variable with time is not permitted and only standard expressions can be used.
