If you have Antivirus software, try turning that off.

      Hello,

when I click on the download link you posted, I just come to a page which says "ANSYS Free Student Products Downloads" but I cant find any download button. Am I just a bit stupid or blind?

I used to study in Germany and I was able to download it from there, now I am for a semester in Spain. Could this change the download page?

Comparing with ansys 18.2, version 19.0 always give an information that license request when I was running CFX-post again. I have to turn off workbench and restart my laptop, After running CFX-post twice the license warning come back again. I have to turn off workbench.........I  supposed in student version two CFX-post can not be running at same time, maybe CFX-post not turn off totally at first time. But why this kind of situation did not exist in 18.2? Should I turn back to install 18.2?

I have downloaded and installed ANSYS Student 19.0 successfully.

I am trying to learn user-defined-functions in Fluent. For compiling UDFs in fluent, do we need to install Visual Studio 2017 along with the new version?

Yes. You need to install Visual Studio 2017 community from here: https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/

So i downloaded the new version. Tried to upload a component for a fluid analysis and "The geometry size exceeds the allowed ranges of the AIM student license." keeps preventing me from doing anything! I dont ever remember having any size issues in 18.1. I even tried a piping layout i did from a year ago and it wont let me upload it anymore! Is this something new you guys did?? This literally renders this software pointless. Is there anyway around this???? I am really disappointed! I actually really liked this software but i guess its back to CrapWorks now...

Or you can get on a Research license, which has no limits, if your Academic institution has those licenses available.

The free student bundle is designed to let you learn, the trade off is that the model size is limited. Given it's best to learn on smaller models (you find the errors, or answers very quickly) this is usually OK. As Peter mentions can you talk to the lecturer and see if there is a research licence to use.

As an aside, I'd tend to look at either a spreadsheet or network modelling tool for a pipe layout. Meshing everything to a CFD level is overkill when the dP in pipes is a hand calc. I'd definitely use CFD for complex manifolds etc, but even then might feed that result to a network tool.
