SubscriberHi There Vishal,
I have just started learning ansys 19.1. I have had a problem when trying to define an element, the software seems to lock/freeze up when doing the following commands.
Element Type > Add/Edit/Delete
Element Table > Define Table
All buttons are greyed and menus non-responsive, excluding the 'raise hidden windows' button and the 'command window' button. the command window will come up, but can not type in it.
Is there a known problem, am I doing something wrong or should I uninstall 19.1 and try a copy of 18(my uni is using 18)?

SubscriberI just download the file and extract and follow all the guide.
However, I can not run the setup.exe rightly with the "please close all the application". But I already closed all the other application and tried several times.
How to deal with this situation?

SubscriberHi handoyo,
Did you click the Show Details button to see if the error is better explained? If you can send me a screenshot of the details that could possibly help figure out the issue.
Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeHi handoyo,
Please check your username and computer name and make sure that there is no special characters. I would recommend to just try creating a user profile with simple english letter like 'abc' or something and see if you get the same issue.

SubscriberHI everyone,
I recently downloaded a student version of "ANSYS discovery live student" in order to use it for an academic work. Whereas i saw an add on the facebook group "interesting engineering" (few month ago) that mentionned ANSYS was free for student it appears that i can't use the softfware and I don"t know why. The software ask me to register and I can find how to register as a student on your website. Is it normal? Could your help me?
I tried to register on ANSYS costumer portal but I haven't any information how to have an ANSYS costumer number. How to have one for student use only?

I really need to use ANSYS for a thermal simulation for my school project (in ICAM engineering school), I sincerely hope you could help me with that problem.
Respectfully
BERTHO Martin. -

Ansys EmployeeHi Divyesh16,
Please create a new thread for your question under 'Installation and Licensing' category.
Please include the following information:
Can you open stand-alone SpaceClaim ? What if you open SpaceClaim from Workbench without having a model attached to it yet ?
Thank you,
Win
