SubscriberMy professor has said that we need to use the 2019 R2 student version of the ansys software, but I have been unable to find a link for a download. Can someone direct me to where I could download it. I would also be curious as to why the teacher would believe that current versions would not work. Is there a backward compatibility issue that they may know of?nThank you n -

Ansys EmployeeRe the Student 2019R2 download, https://forum.ansys.com/discussion/20515/student-product-release-policy but in summary, it's not available. Nothing wrong with the new release (well that I know of). It's possible they have created the course on the older version and don't want to update the content, or more likely the Uni system is out of date. As a general rule old files read into the new version (occasionally with warnings if we've revised some settings), new files won't read into older versions of the code (Fluent often will but it's not recommended). n
