2D Axisymetric Analysis

      Dear All Expert;

      I did a 2D axisymetric analysis. but in two points stress is too much, I did same anaysis with membrane element but it did not gave any too much stress like on 2D axisymetric. Also by using midsurface I got maximum stress aproximately 45 Mpa but in 2D analysis I got 130 MPa.

      what can I do for 2D analysis?

      thank in advice. Best regards...

      Hi,

      The stress is at a tip and looks like a singularity.

      Dear Mr. Khemka;

      thank you for your reply.

      what do you suggest in order to overcome this type of singularity problem?

      best regards.

      Edit the geometry and put a generous blend radius on each corner.

      When you mesh these blend radii, make sure there are at least 10 elements around the edge. Make sure these edges are on the Contact side of the contact pair (not the Target side).

      That should cause the stress in the 2D axisymmetric model to be more reasonable.
