SubscriberHi Support  See image below and attached part. When the bolt is put into a 2D drawing you can see that it isn't rendering correctly?  Any ideas why or how to fix?🛈 This post originally contained file attachments which have been removed in compliance with the updated Ansys Learning Forum Terms & Conditions -

Graphics issues where drawing views displayed as hidden line and hidden line removed show up with missing edges are almost always due to geometry errors. Â
I believe this issue might have been caused by the corner of the thread profile being exactly at the bottom edge of the bolt cylinder. I used Fill to remove the existing threads and recreated them. Once that was done the drawing views looked fine.

SubscriberHi Brian
Thanks for the reply but I can't seem to get this to work as you describe.
I think there may be a rendering issue here as it seems to be a bit hit and miss whether you see the correct lines or not.
Also tried simply creating a triangle in a new design and revolving this round an axis and getting similar results and I wouldn't expect there to be any geometry issues here.
Â
I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence but when I choose a height value of between 47 - 59 this is when I'm seeing most issues. Above or below that it seems to be more stable.

Sorry for the delay on this one. I realized I wasn't entirely clear in my original explanation. I used copy/paste on the flat triangular face that is used for the thread profile. Then I used Fill to remove the threads. I moved the profile face down just a bit so the corner wasn't exactly on the bottom face of the bolt and then recreated the threads using Pull > Revolve > Revolve Helix.
