About ANSYS UPFs

  Hello, I want to know how can I create an irregular shape element by ANSYS UPFs, can I define gauss point by myself? Does ANSYS UPFs allow users to define arbitrary element shape or assemble the total stiffness matrix? I am looking forward to reply. Thanks so much.n

  There is a 'Keyshape' field associated with USERELEM command for USER300 called anyshape, which is basically just what the name implies. I don't know what the practical limits of this are, but I can only imagine that the more complicated the shape, the more challenging it will be to derive meaningful shape functions. You can certainly try it out. Refer to Section 2.1 of the R2021-R1 Programmers Reference Manual for more details.n
