SubscriberHello,
I want to determine the sound power level of a centrifugal fan placed inside a volute through ansys fluent. After going through the materials provided, the k-omega SBES WALE model is suggested with microphone on the inner volute surfaces. As FW-H method cannot be applied to source with an obstacle. I want to know which is the best way. Or can FW-H be applied at the outlet of the volute ? Basically i want to compare sound power level with experimental results as we only have reverberation chamber. What is the best way to go about this ?

SubscriberHello,
as you have suggested, FW-H will assume that there are no obstacle between the source region and the microphones.
