Adding forces in LS-Dyna

      Hello,

I am trying to model a rear half shaft for a car in LS-Dyna. I have modeled the part as a cylindrical shell and now I want to apply a 40 ft pound force to the piece. How do I do this?

There are various ways to apply load that are described in the LS-DYNA Manual Vol I. The commonly used keywords are:

      *LOAD_NODE (applies load at nodes)

*LOAD_BODY (applies body loads, such as weight due to the acceleration of gravity)

*LOAD_SEGMENT (applies distributed load over a surface defined by segments)

*LOAD_RIGID_BODY (applies load at the center of mass of a rigid body)

      Hello,

Thanks for the pointers. I will be sure to look into those keywords. I am still pretty new to ls-dyna so I appritiate the help. Have a good one.
