I have the need to conduct some research using the Piezoelectric & MEMS extension. I am a faculty member and do not have administrative rights to my computer. I think I have to work through our IT department.
When I look at the extensions in the extension folder, there are only 2: ensight and LSDyna.
Would you please help me by defining how our IT department can load the extension?

You would need to access the extensions from our AppStore.
Once downloaded you can have IT install them. They can be installed from the Workbench -> Extensions -> Install Extension menu.

I am from NC State University and have used ANSYS with academic license in the lab. Can you please provide me with details how can I go about installing this extension as well as MATLAB toolbox extension?

Let's first check if you have an eligible account to download it. Please try this link
for piezo and mems extension.
The installation should be straightforward, you can follow the pop-ups.
If issue persists, please create a new thread for your own.
