My It guy installed the latest software and deleted all previous version.
Now when i double click a file i get the error in the attached picture.
I have to do it the long way now and that is very inconvenient.
I have right clicked, open with, located the .exe file and still get the same error.
is there another .exe file hidden somewhere in the install?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Rick

Ansys EmployeeHi @Rick Szanyi
This error usually appears when the program is launched without the command /UseSubscription=true.
When a program is set as the default to open a particular file type, an entry is added to the Windows registry. That entry points to the executable (spaceclaim.exe for example) but does not include additional commands.
The key that needs to be modified is:
HKEY_USERS
SoftwareClassesApplicationsSpaceClaim.exeshellopencommand The registry key value should be set to the following.
"C:Program FilesANSYS Incv221scdmspaceclaim.exe" "%1" "/USERUNNINGSPACECLAIM=true" /UseLicenseMode=true
/UseLicenseMode=true is necessary to make Discovery SpaceClaim look for the subscription license. Without that set it will look for a floating license, which is why they get the error in the image you submitted.
Please let me know if this resolves your issue.
Regards.

SubscriberGood Morning.
I dont see a (user folder) with my name on it as i believe my IT guy did the entire instal under
his admin log in. Although i just had him make me a full admin of this p.c. now so i am able
to dabble in some admin stuff. The two pics depict the only folder that i can navigate to that string
you have in BOLD. is this the correct folder and string to add this too?
HKEY_USERS
"/USERUNNINGSPACECLAIM=true" /UseLicenseMode=true
Here are pics of the 6 folders that i can navigate to that string too.
Thanks in advance

SubscriberObviously i am bit of a Registry noob, but i do know to back up the entire registry before
attempting any thing :)
(not that it matters but i noticed you can navigate to the same string
in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder too.)
cheers

Ansys EmployeeHi Rick Szanyi
Please can you send the SpaceClaim log from '%APPDATA%SpaceClaimLog files' and the Ansys license log from %TMP%.ansys on ansys-discovery-support@ansys.com.
I am checking with the development team for more information on this, I will update you as I hear from them about this issue.
Regards.
