SubscriberHi all. I have recently started with ANSYS .
I want to model a building frame in ansys. I want to use Line elements of beams and columns and for slab I want to use surface elements or solid elements depending on usage. I'm not able to analyze the model with the slabs in the frame. Only beams and column, with base of column fixed and only load being acceleration due to gravity model was running. Problem arises when I include slabs either surfaces or solids. I have tried using share surface topology but I can't find the problem and solution. May be the connections, I tried applying fixed joints at vertices where beam, column meet and connected it to slab. Model was analysed but response was not correct.
What might be the problem and corresponding solution ? (It would be helpful if I get a detailed solution)

SubscriberUse Surfaces for the panels, not Solids in DesignModeler.
In Mechanical, add a Bonded Contact between each edge of the Surface and each Beam on the side.

SubscriberI had a similar kind of problem at the beginning, but I did a form new part in design modeler by selecting all the parts and right-clicked in to do it. i dont know if its the correct way to do it.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
