SubscriberYes Sir. That's true but may I know the kind of laser heat source it is assuming such as(Volumetric heat source approach or Gaussian Elliptic) ?? And also may I know how to differentiate whether the simulation is PFB or DED ?

Ansys EmployeeThe laser is not simulated...the whole layer (which uses the super layer element approach) is brought to melting temperature. Please see the methodology section in the help.
PBF is the default analysis type. DED would require a command snippet.
