SubscriberHi, I'm trying to make a static structural analysis using ansys18.2, using an imported geometry from Inventor in .igs format. But in the moment I try to set the model, ansys mechanical doesn't open and gives an error message. I've tried several solutions, I updated my graphics card drivers and to make a geometry using space claim to be sure geometry wasn't the problem. I tried with ansys 19 and the issue persists.
I was able to set the model with my solid in .igs in another computer with ansys 18.2.
I'm new to ansys, so I tried opening the Mechanical module outside the workbench and the interfaces were not the ones I expected.
Hoping someone can help
PS: I'm attaching the diagnostic file. I'm using WIndows 7, with an i5 (2nd Gen) processor. I don't have a dedicated graphics card.

SubscriberI don't see an attached file. If you have a solid model in Inventor, you would be better off saving an ACIS file than an IGES file. If you can create an ACIS file and put that along with your .igs file in a zip archive file, you can attach zip files to these posts as long as they are < 120 MB. I can download it and see if the .igs file causes me any trouble. You can open ACIS files in SpaceClaim.

SubscriberI've already tried opening the solid in STEP format in another computer with ANSYS 18.2 and it has oppened fine. The issue seems to come from my pc, and i'm not sure why.
I'm attaching the zip you requested. I'm also attaching the diagnostic file in another .zip.
Thank you for the help!

SubscriberOkay, I was able to successfully open the SAT and STP files in SpaceClaim 18.2. I also noticed that SpaceClaim can open Inventor files directly.
Don't know why your other computer choked on the IGS file.
