SubscriberDear reader,
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my posting.
I'm a very big novice with the ANSYS line of software, and I recently embarked on a small beginner project, mostly to teach myself how to use the fluid simulations software. I'm using the Academic Student (Free) Edition of ANSYS 2022 R1.
I have recently stumbled upon a puzzling issue with the Meshing software, I am unable to select the "Named Selection" options properly for the "Boundary" option when setting up an Inflation layer onto my mesh.
Attached to this posting should be a small video of the issue happening.
I wasn't sure if this was perhaps another limitation of the student edition of the ANSYS software, or if this was a bug, and if so, whether there was something I could do to fix it.
Thank you for reading my post.
Sincerely,
Svarun

Ansys EmployeeHello,
While selecting boundaries for inflation layers, select all the Named Selections of your interest. Right-Click and hit 'Select Items in Group' and assign it to the Boundary in the Inflation settings. I hope this works.

SubscriberThank you for responding to my question;
So that option only applies to Geometric Selection mode, where you select multiple surfaces, you right-click and hit that option to add all the faces/edges to your current selection. That is also fine in theory, since the Inflation layers technically do have a Geometric Selection option, however unfortunately, if I select the different parts geometrically, every time I try to mesh or to preview the inflation, there is a "Sweeper Seed" error.
Here is the complete wording of the error as presented by the Meshing software: "The mesher was unable to create the source mesh to seed the sweeper."
This happens regardless of the options & parameters I have selected for the Inflation layer, and what originally lead me to believe that there is some sort of bug at play.
Sincerely Svarun

SubscriberWell after checking back a few hours later, it turns out that I can upload images after all... They weren't showing up for me for a while, but now it appears I can see the images.
