ANSYS Parameters Not Updating When Modifying Connected Excel File

  I have connected an excel file to parameters in DesignModeler. I can confirm that this updates the 3d geometry when I open the excel file and modify it in Workbench. nHowever, when I open the excel file without opening it in Workbench, it does not recognize that the values have changed. nCan anyone suggest a solution to this?.
