Ansys SpaceClaim License Error

      Our Ansys network license is supposed to support SpaceClaim per our sales rep. Below are the only two SpaceClaim-related feature codes in our network license. I removed our customer number. When a student tries to launch SpaceClaim they received a pop-up error (see attached file)

      The version used by the student reporting the error is Ansys 18.1.

      This will be a bit tricky to get it sorted as I may need to see certain data.


      What is the ANSYS License Manager version ?


      Do you have any license starts with aa  ? If so, please list all of them.


      If you look at the ansysli_server.log (default) under C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensing  on the license server machine, do you see any 'DENIED' or "OUT" from this user ? If so, please post them (and entries around them) here.

      It looks like you may have a commercial license and not an ANSYS Academic license. Can you confirm?


      If you have an academic license then we only bundled the Faceted Data Toolkit into the core Teaching & Research licenses at release 19.0. Prior to that the Faceted Data Toolkit needed to be purchased separately. So in your case (release 18.1) you should see a separate license increment in your license file relating to the Faceted Data Toolkit. Those two increments in your first post are not the Faceted Data Toolkit.

      The ansylmd.exe is is v11.13.1.2
      The ansysli_server.exe is v1.9.7.0


       


      There are no DENIED entries in the server log file for the user, just OUT log entries which are mostly for "aa_r"


      Also, there are several entries in the log file that show "Last 10 Client Requests Processing Time (in ms)" with a bunch of other users.
      You can see the user edejesus in these entries. e.g.:

      Based on the information shared in the link below. Looks like we may need to upgrade our Ansys license manager to 2019 R2.

      You can try updating the version of License Manager to 2019 R2. If that doesn't work, please post content of a'nsysli_server.log' . Your log above is from 'license.log' , which is a different log.
