ANSYS STUDENT 2023 – R2 OPENS INSTEAD OF R1

  Hello,
  Early this year, I downloaded ANSYS student version 2023 R1, and running was no problem. However, early this week (I'm not sure how this happened) but R1 is not opening anymore and instead, R2 opens - even though I have R1 installed. I have tried uninstall and reinstall 3 times now - Downloading the student version but once again, R2 opens up and I cannot running simulations because I don't have a full license.... It's frustrating. Please help!

  How are you opening 2023R2? Please can you post a screen grab?

  I have tried multiple uninstall, reinstall and was unsuccessful. Downloads student version but once downloaded, it can't pull it up, so it defaults to the full version which I don't have a license for...

  OK, that's strange as R2 isn't available yet! I'll query this side. If you have Student on a machine with "normal" software the licence managers will conflict. Student is for learning, so shouldn't really be on any Campus hardware.

  Felix, please uninstall again and make sure you have deleted any "Ansys Inc" directories following the installation. Please also delete any ANSYS related environment variable. Next, reboot your machine and check again for any Ansys installation directories or variables. Following that, please redownload and reinstall the 2023R1 STUDENT version.
