Hi, I am trying to simulate sub wavelength bandstructure using the example provided (https://www.lumerical.com/learn/video/swg-bandstructures/ ) in FDTD . In the parameter section of SWG_bandstructure.fsp / model , i can see apod_center, apod_width, how do i set these? Do i assume it as the center of grating length and assume a random width?

Those parameters are used to pick up certain signals. Usually you do not need to change them. If you want to change, please check this article https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034902473-Understanding-time-apodization-in-frequency-domain-monitors
to get more information.
As for the grating length, it is periodic, meanining infinitely long.

Thank you. Also i am trying to draw grating along a trapezoid structure. I am not sure how to write a script for that. I know how to define a polygon and draw a plane trapezoid and normal grating using for loop.Do you have any suggestion for scripting this structure. Does array provides an option to create this struture? How to vary the length along the array keeping other parameters same?

Yes, you are right that using a loop and defining the polygongs with parameters are better way.
