Below is a png file, but when I upload it, the site converts it to a jpg format.
The site didn't use to work like this, it used to store png files directly.
Compare to the original PNG file in this post.
Why was this change made?

plg (Paul) is looking into this, as it may have something to do with the website crashing with some frequency in the last week.
