SubscriberI am trying to assign a revolute joint in a distant point I defined in my model. I tried following the format tutorial procedure, but when I selected the defined remote point as the contact body, it showed yellow in the shell. Is there any special consideration when assigning a revolute joint at a remote point?
Any suggestions would be constructive.
Thank you

SubscriberIs it a revolute joint to ground or between two components in the model?
You don’t need a remote point to define a revolute joint that revolves about some distant axis. What is helpful is to put a coordinate system origin at that location with the Z axis pointed in the direction you want to rotate about, then in the Details window of the revolute joint, you can select that coordinate system and in the location of the revolute joint, type in 0,0,0 for the coordinates of the joint.

SubscriberI am trying revolute joint to ground. Is it compulsory to choose the Z axis as a rotational axis in a new coordinate system, while in my case, the model has to rotate about the X axis per my global coordinate system?
Thank you

SubscriberYes, Revolute Joints rotate about the local Z axis. When you create a local Csys at a specific origin, it will be aligned to Global, but click on the Coordinate System tab on the ribbon and click the Rotate about Y button and type in 90 and that will point the local X along the global Z axis.
