SubscriberHello,
I am trying to simulate a serpentine fuel cell model. I have not been getting any acceptable results due to the quality of the mesh. I would like to ask for help regarding the best way to mesh my model.
The model consists of 23 bodies. Out of these, 19 of them are sweep able bodies. These are the 14 channels, the membrane, and the anodic/cathodic CLs and MPLs. There are also two gas diffusion layers one of which is pictured below. The problem that I have is that if I define the 14 channels for sweep able mesh there will be a conflict with the imprint of the channels on the GDL and the mesh will fail.

AdministratorHello:
You should be able to create a multizone or sweep mesh. Please split your geometry and try multizone on each section.

SubscriberHello Kremella Thank you for your answer.
I am not sure I understood your instructions very well. I have already defined different body parts in the design modeler. Which parts should I split?
I also have another question, on the GDL surface when I do an automatic mesh I obtain a structured mesh where the channels are placed and an unstructured mesh between the channels. How can I solve this issue so I can only get a structured mesh. I have also provided a picture in case my explanation isn't clear.

Forum ModeratorHave a look at how multizone works, and then compare that with your shapes. I think you can sweep the shape, but you need to manually set the source & target, so it may not be a quick process.
