SubscriberHello everyone,
I am studying the flow around a helmet and I am trying to perform a boolean subtract operation in ANSYS. However, I am encountering the error message "". I have seen in other posts that the helmet cannot be hollow, which is the case for my geometry obtained from GrabCAD. I have tried filling the inside of the helmet using CAD software, but due to the complexity of the geometry, I was not successful.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed with this?

Ansys EmployeeWhat do you want to do with the helmet geometry?

Ansys EmployeeOK. You can either clean up the outer casing of the helmet & then mesh. The non-manifold issue is down to surfaces not quite touching, or rather touching with a zero area contact.
Or, have a look at the Fault Tolerant Meshing option in Fluent Meshing.
