SubscriberHello. I am trying to analysis fatigue Failure of a stepped shaft supported at two ends by bearings and a torque of 35Nm to be applied for its rotation of 2.81 rad/s. All this in static structural.
However, I am unable to simulate the bearing support.
I have tried applying rotational velocity & moment as the boundary conditions, but on solving ansys shows an error that the model in not sufficiently constrained for rigid body motion.
Could someone please help me? -

Ansys EmployeeHi PayalTalda,
You may need to add cylindrical support to constrain the axial movement.
Please let me know if it helps.

Wenlong

SubscriberHi,
Thank you for the reply.
I have tried using the cylindrical support, constraining the radial & axial movement.
However, it shows the same error.
Best Regards,
Payal

Ansys EmployeeHi Payal,
Sorry that I know you have described your boundary condition clearly, but can you post some images of your boundary conditions?
Thanks,
