      Hello

I used the example and I had modified the geometry and set up.

I am confused when modifing the EME please compare group 1 and group 2 in attached file.

I have modified the cell group span from 0.16 to 0.2 micron to fit my geometry and I got no filtring effect however I keep it to 0.16 it's working but it doesn't make sense from since ports are not located at the appropriate cells

      Many Thanks

Hi, EME works from cells.  The modes are calcualted at the center of the cell. the xspan of EME is the period. I would suggest that you make sure the cell centers are at the center of grating teeth and etch and modify the teeth and etch width to be 0.2um.

Hi, The period is 0.4 and each cell 0.2 micron and as you can see from the screenshot, the EME setup is at the center of the grating

Not every value of the periodicity will have resonance. You need to optimize it.

of course we had resonnance for this period... do some basic analythic calcul: here the resonnance depend on period and effective index. I changed the matrial and so the effective index thereofore I changed the period to get resonnance.

and optimize what? at least be more specific. if this example work under specific condition please specify.

      Tank you in advance

Sorry reply you late as we had two-day special events.

You can optimize peiodicity, duty cyle, and even the grating teeth depth.

Every device works at its best with certain ranges of parameters.
