SubscriberRecently, I am running some 2D simulations (plane strain model) using ANSYS 17.0. I am wondering can I extract all the three components of displacement (u1, u2, u3). Typically, u1 and u2 are default output for 2D simulation. I am not sure if I can get u3 from 2D simulation

SubscriberPlane strain elements (modelled on xy plane) have only x and y dof, not out of plane, so 2 dof per node.
See theory manual say plane elements like plane42.
