Can I define springs with coincident nodes defining each end? Can I use one spring element to define

  The spring cannot be defined at coincident nodes because the node locations determine the spring orientation. The longitudinal spring element stiffness acts only along its length. The length change can be considered in the 3D space. You need to define multiple springs for different directions.
