Cannot access flexlm from external

      Dear support,

      Our group uses the 5-license Lumerical research package for university research. We access the server both from inside and outside the University network. After renewal of our license on December 12, we are not able to access our licenses externally, only internally. Is there a shift in policy, or does anything have to be reconfigured in the license server?

      @Jon Schlipf,

      Please consult with your IT to configure the license file/Ansys license manager with static ports and allow access to these ports used by the Ansys License Manager from outside your University's network.

      Thanks, that did the job!

      I had only set the 1055 port, not the 1056. When setting both ports, it works.

      Interestingly, it seems like I do not need 2325. It is sufficient to either ssh-forward the other two ports, or open the firewall for them.

      @Jon Schlipf,

      Glad to hear this. We typically open or add these ports used by the Ansys LM to exception rules in the firewall. We don't forward them to other ports to avoid any issues.
