SubscriberHey y'all, I've been running into a very frustrating problem with ANSYS 2019 R3. I've been following the tutorial on Fluid Flow through a Y-Duct; I've completed the geometry using Spaceclaim, and when import it into ANSYS Fluent under the Workbench ribbon as a Watertight Geometry Workflow I get a recurring error in Fluent:nError: Error in CAD ImportnError Object: #fnError: Error occurred during import.nError Object: #fnAs well as an Information pop-up saying: Warning: An error or interrupt occurred while reading the journal file. Some commands may not have been completedI have double-checked the geometry to make sure it wasn't the problem. I have tried a small number of solutions I can think of:nUninstalling, deleting registries using CCleaner, and reinstalling from a fresh download.nDownloading and installing the 2020 R1 Student Version. Didn't work either.nMaking sure I had everything installed in Product & CAD Configuration Manager.nRunning CAD Configuration Manager in Administrator, and configuring the SCDM interface.nImporting from SpaceClaim into the Design Modeler via ANSYS Workbench, and doing the workflow accordingly through Meshing and then Fluent. This actually worked but was a lot of effort for something that should be working.nOpening Fluent by itself and trying to import the file. In this case, the command line gets stuck at Importing one geom object per program-controlled and one zone per body... /ANSYS was unexpected at this time.nAny help will be incredibly appreciated as no one else in my dissertation group has had the same issue. Thank you!n -

SubscriberSmall Update: I tried to reinstall ANSYS, making sure it was done as Administrator. I changed the names of the file paths and now the error in importing a geometry in Fluenthas changed to this. Unfortunately, I can't actually see what the end file is. Thought this was worth mentioning regardless of its significance.nn

Ansys EmployeeHello, nMay I know which version you used to create the geometry in SpaceClaim? Creating a geometry in a newer version and loading it into an older version of Fluent will throw out an error. n -

SubscriberThank you for your reply and sorry I didn't get back to you! The version of Spaceclaim I'm using is the same version as Fluent, both installed from the same package.nAfter a lot of troubleshooting, I finally figured out the problem on my own. I was snooping around the Fluent files and figured out I had a bunch of .dll files missing or unavailable. I uninstalled ANSYS fully, deleting the registries along with it, as well as the leftover files. The solution was as simple as disabling the antivirus and firewall (Windows Defender) during installation, as it was probably hindering the installation of certain files. nThis seems to be a rare occurrence but I hope this helps out anyone who experienced the same problems as I did.n -
