Chemkin Pro – SI Zonal Model – MFL Gasoline_NOx_PAH

      Hi,

I am modelling ethanol combustion using the MFL mechanism Gasoline_NOx_PAH in the SI zonal model. This mechanism includes the PAH chemistry for use with soot models.

My question is, how do I use this mechanism to capture soot?

      Thanks in advance,

      Patrick

      Hi P.Brosnan:

To model soot formation, you will need to activate particles for soot surface reactions that will model soot particle growth and formation. All soot simulations will need both gas phase and surface chemistry input files.  For an example of this, please see the Chemkin tutorials manual "Soot Formation and Growth in a JSR/PFR Reactor"  and the corresponding file reactor_network__soot_JSRPFR.ckprj.

      I hope this helps.
