      Hello, I'm trying to look more into how FDE solver works and I'm following this link. https://support.lumerical.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034396734-FDE-solver-analysis-Mode-List-and-Deck

      My questions are:

      1. What does lambda_0 represent (As in the E(z) equation)?
      2. What does k_0 represent (as in the neff formula)?
      3. What does n represent (As in E(z) equation)?

      Thanks!

      We know that for any mode, it has an eigen frequency and wavelength. so
      lambda_0 is the wavelength in vacuum;
      k_0 is the wave number , 2Ipi/lambda_0;
      n is the real part of (effective) refractive index.
