Ansys EmployeePlease post the entire screenshot of the error.
Do you have any .err files under (default) C:Program FilesANSYS Inc or C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Student
Please also post the output of 'set' command (without quote ' ') from the CMD Prompt.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberHi tsiriaks.
I uninstalled the version of ANSYS Student which I had and downloaded the latest files from the website.
Now Workbench wont open at all. It says
I tried the cmd commands you gave in the following thread:
https://forum.ansys.com/forums/topic/ansys-19-1-fatal-error/
But the result was the same. Also there are not any .err files present and I have the environment variables set too.
Can you please help me?
Thanks

Ansys EmployeeOpen a regular CMD Prompt, then issue the following command
move %appdata%ansys %appdata%ansys.back
If this still doesn't work, post the output of the 'set' command

SubscriberThank you tsiriaks !
Changing the appdata folder solved the issue for me.
However, when I close Workbench, the error occurs again the next time I open it. It wouldn't be a problem, but I have to install all my extensions again.
The other problem that occurred when I changed the appdata folder is that I can't see the icons in the model tree in mechanical (I am sending a picture). I am not sure if the problems are related, but I am sending anyway.
What can it be?
Thank you guys in advance!

Ansys EmployeeHi Rodrigo,
Please create a new thread for your own inquiry.
For this
"Changing the appdata folder solved the issue for me. However, when I close Workbench, the error occurs again the next time I open it. It wouldn't be a problem, but I have to install all my extensions again. "
In that case, I would recommend to not rename the entire %appdata%ansys folder, just try renaming the folder inside this one-by-one, and narrow down where the issue actually is, then you can just rename that file or the content of that file in the future. This will not affect other settings and ACT extension installation (unless they are the one that causes the issue).
Removing %appdata%ansys folder should not cause issue with missing icons. Please create a new thread and we will investigate further.
Thanks,
Win
