Composite PDA – CDM Method – Softening

Does the CDM method in progressive damage analysis take into account softening of the composite material? How can I account for softening? I am using the Hashin failure criteria with the CDM method to model a simple tension test of a composite laminate. Nonlinear geometry is turned on, and the ANTYPE is static. The elements are shell281. Is there any other code I should be adding to correctly model progressive damage?

      Thank you!

      Hi,

You can use a multilinear model but the slope of true stress-strain curve should not be less than zero. Since, material failure is involved you can use Expicit Analysis as well.
