SubscriberHello everybody,
Please could you help me with a problem?, when I reduce the mesh size less than 2mm in a model the computer freezes, I already tried in two computers and the same happens I have research license, I even generated a sphere for only reduce the meshing in the critical area and leave the rest of the model in a larger size (with which it simulates correctly). What can I do to solve it, since there are other users that use smaller mesh size and their computer does not freeze during the simulation?

Ansys EmployeeI assume you mean the minimum cell size. Check the smaller size isn't trying to capture very small edges or faces in the model: that can cause the cell count to increase significantly higher than you're expecting.

Ansys EmployeeFew things to consider.
Student license has limits.
Structural Physics: 32K nodes/elements
Fluid physics: 512K cells/nodes
Please check your RAM. Usually 1GB can produce approx 2-3M cells depending on geometry and size functions used.
Please try to reduce your problem by reducing geometry.
Also check sizing controls.

Keyur

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
