SubscriberHi, i am doing a contact problem simulation, and i wanna get the width of contact strips. But i don't know how to get the width, so i choose to get the contact area. The question is how the workbench get the contact area in a 2d simulation, regards the width of contact zone as 1? Can i just regards the contact area as the width of the strips?

When you speak of "width", are you talking about the depth in the z-direction in 2D analyses? I'm a little confused on this point.
If you are asking what width is used in the calculation of contact area, for plane stress or plane strain, it is assuming unit depth (1.0).
