SubscriberI am inflating a bag like structure with a pressure. As seen here: bag before and after inflation
It needs to contact with several other bodies. However, it fails to contact with some of the bodies.
Here is an example of a successful contact: Before and AfterHere is an example of an unsuccessful contact: before, during and after
Both of the bodies are marked as targets with the inflated bag as the contact. The contact is a simple frictional contact. I have tried frictionless but this didn't help.
Here are my contact settings:
Thanks,Ben

Ram Gopisetti
Ansys EmployeeHi, i am not aware if you use any single surface airbag contact in your model, if not use it,
increase the stiffness factors by using the lsdyna contact definition.
cheers, ram

SubscriberHow do I find the lsdyna contact definition? I haven't used single surface airbag contact in this model.
I'm using Workbench LS-Dyna are these availble?-

SubscriberI got the contact to work by using a soft constraint formulation. Not sure why, but it works now.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
