Contact edge looked unreal on a hyperelastic material deformation surface

      - Model: Compression of a hyperelastic material defined using Mooney-Rivlin 5 parameters


      - Problem: The result animation showed that the nearby region looked flat as if the object was also acting. The visualization is shown below. The flat region is the ring region outside this cylinder. From experimental verification, the ring area should not exist. 



      Setup:


      - Contact: Frictional, normal stiffness 5 


      - Solver Type: Direct solver

      I don't understand what you were expecting and what you are seeing. Please explain in more detail. Use a Section View. Add labels and arrows to point to the specific feature you are talking about.

      The questionable regions are marked with red arrows here. The orange steel cylinder is pressed onto the hyperelastic gel (a kind of polymer). Normally the gel and the cylinder side contact spacing would be much thinner... And the animation seems not be scaled.
