SubscriberI want to simulate an electrostatic-structural problem, so I need to keep the air gap between two solids in contact. However, even I make the air part element type 0, it still doesn't allow me to create a contact pair because it's not exterior. Is there any method to create contact with air gap?

Thanks, so basically I want to model the contact between two solids A1 and A2 as marked in the image, and A3 is the air. I set the element type of A3 to 0, but when I tried to create contact pair for the two lines, the error message always pops out:
So how can I create contact pair with air gap in between?

SubscriberI can't help you with the ANSYS Mechanical APDL product, I only know Workbench. Hopefully, someone else can answer.
