SubscriberHello, nWe have both a single server dedicated to Ansys licensing as well as a triad of three servers for the added redundancy. Ever since Ansys updated their license manager we have had nothing but problems with both our triad and our stand-alone license servers. I'm opening this discussion with the hope that someone may have found a solution or workaround. nAt this point, we are considering decommissioning the triad entirely because it doesn't cooperate with the newest license manager as it did before the upgrade. Numerous attempts have been made to resolve this problem without success.nOur stand-alone license server is running Windows Server 2012R2, it now has 4 CPUs and 12GB of memory with a 24GB pagefile. Ever since the Ansys license manager upgrade, the server continues to over-utilize the available memory and trips our alert notification system. Before upgrading the memory and increasing the size of the pagefile, our instructors had significant delays trying to obtain licenses. Now, after doubling the memory and pagefile we are still unable to check out licenses reliably. nToday we received this report:Would you mind checking the status of the ANSYS license services on our 'STAND-ALONE' Ansys server, I tried launching Workbench on 'Lab computer'. On the first launch, it opened very quickly with no errors, but on the second launch, it displayed this error:Could not connect to any license server. The server is down or is not responsive. On the third, fourth, and fifth launches, it started very quickly with no errors. On the sixth launch, it again displayed the Could not connect to any license server. error. nThanks everyone,nScottnn -

Ansys Employee@ScottatMinesnWhat version of the License Manager are you running?nThere was an issue where the Tomcat Service would use up available memory .nThis was fixed at 2021 R1.nOne item that can be done with earlier versions is to stop the Tomcat Service as it is only used when running the License Management tool.n
