SubscriberI intend to carry out comparison on corrosion and wear bewteen two materials. I want to know what parameters I need. Also which module do I use to perform the simulations.
The types of corrosion to be simulated are Pitting, Stress-cracking, Intergranullar. The wear mechanism is abrasive wear. What are the necessary parameters to perform the simualtions. I will appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

Forum ModeratorHi,
Can you try searching the web for the following keywords: corrosion modeling in Ansys?
You may find some videos using Fluent relevant to your needs.

Ansys EmployeeI would check both Fluids and Mechanical tools. Both stress cracking and abrasive wear are more mechanical processes.
Fluent 23R2 has a corrosion tool that will model corrosion that arises from electron transfer (rusting etc ..) This has some built-in chemistry models for water chemistry in acid, CO2, H2S and mixed environments. The focus is on the details of the electrochemistry and movement of chemical species.
Best Regards,
Judy
