Corrosion tool, 2023R2

Hello there, I am trying to setup co2 corrosion tool in Ansys, however, I am facing the following error:

      How can I fix it?

      Hi Shamkhal:

There is some issue with the water specie. What steps did you take to get this error? I believe the water chemistry tries to add/create the specie "water-liquid" automatically.  Was your "H2O (l)" already present when this panel opened?

I am modeling Eulerian two-phase flow. pressure inlet and pressure outlet, I created two fluids water (l) and CO2, I have co2 volume 95% at inlet and h20 L, 5%. after setting up all this, I tried to open and setup the corrosion tool, but I got an error. I think the corrosion tool tries to create the mixture, and that makes some confrontation

      Hi Shamkal:

The corrosion tool is new and does not support the multiphase framework.  So far, simulations are restricted to single phase.  Probably the error occurred because water was not found in the gas phase mixture where it is expected.

I would try entering the tool with a single phase mixture containing water-liquid and CO2. The only difference is that "liquid" and gas phase species will share the same velocity and temperature fields.

      Best Regards,

      Judy

Then, how should I set up the model where I have primary CO2 in the cylinder, i wanted to know how much corrosion will i observe when i have different concentrations of h20 in the flow.

You can activate the species model and set up a multicomponent mixture containing water-liquid, co2 and other required species.  The corrosion model is an extension of species reaction model, so this is the expected framework.

In that case, do I have to define reactions that take place? and how i can define the amount of H2o and CO2 in the system

You should be able to set everything up right from the Species Model panel.  Here is a screenshot.  The reactions are activated when you select the Water Corrosion Pre ...  button:
