Creating a deformable behavior on Remote displacement – (Explicit Dynamics)

      Hey Guys,

I'm trying to simulate a y section geometry (Shell model) of an aluminium honeycomb core. However, when I looked on the remote displacement - I can only set the behavior as rigid. I need the geometry to deform like how it occurs in a quasi static test.

Is there any workaround to this.

I have done nodal displacements on the edges of the geometry, but that function doesn't allow me to input values for the degrees of freedom on the rotational.

Hope someone can help me out.

      Many thanks,

      Kiran

      Hi Kiran,

Yes, you are right. Remote displacement in Explicit Dynamics can only have "rigid" behavior.

You can assign a "fixed rotation" to the end to control the Rotation Y and Z, and a "displacement" to control the X-displacement.

Thank you for that. It works exactly how I need it to do.
