Creating a parallel plate microstrip transmission line in ANSYS Circuit Designer

Hello,nI am attempting to construct a parallel plate transmission line with microstrip using the ANSYS circuit designer, but I am unsure how to go about doing so because there does not seem to be a component defined for it. Can anyone give me advice on how to go about doing this?nI have tried modeling it using a stackup that has a ground layer in the center and two dielectric layers of half my board with sandwiching it, but I can't find a way to assign the components in the schematic view to specific stackup layers for simulation. If this approach would work please let me know what I am missing, or if anyone knows a better way to do it I would love to hear about that.n

nThank you for reaching to us. It is not clear from your statements regarding your requirements.nAre you using 3D layout for defining your stackup of your board?nBest Regards,

Hello,nIf by 3D layout you mean an HFSS 3D Layout Design, I am not using that. I am using circuit schematic editor that comes up when going to the Insert menu and selecting Insert Circuit Design, which seems to be using Nexxim Circuit Elements. I have been designing my board and running my simulations through the schematic view of the circuit, as though there is a layout view I have tried moving parts around in it before and it does not seem to change the simulation results when I return to the schematic view. There is a stackup defined for the circuit, but it doesn't seem to actually be used by the simulation since each microstrip transmission line I make needs me to define the substrate it is on. My current problem is that I am trying to design a balanced microstrip tranmission line that runs along the top and the bottom of the board so that there is a virtual ground in the center of the board, but I am unsure how to design it in the circuit tool as there does not seem to be a way to indicate where stackup layers the transmission line components are on as far as the schematic simulation is concerned. Hopefully there is a component that can handle this for me or I am just overlooking something.nnSorry if any of this is unclear, please let me know if any more clarification is needed. Thank you!n
