      Hello,

I am trying to define the GAP between two parts using CONTA178 in Ansys workbench 2019R2 but unfortunately, the script that I wrote is not executing.

Could you have to look around and help to resolve this issue?

attached workbench file for your reference.

      Regards,

I made many changes to add displacement and fixed rotation so that the solver would run.

I'm a beginner at APDL so I'm not sure how to use the R command to define real constants.

      You had this:

      R,_sid,FKN,FKS,GAP,X

I changed it so it looked like this:

      R,_sid,FKN,GAP

I did that because the table shows the items listed in the following order and I couldn't find an X in the table.

Do Real constants have to be put in order?  I have no idea.

      Hello Peter,

      Good day!!

      Thanks for your reply.

I hope so those r values are needed to be in order.

trying a little bit in depth.

      Regards

I haven't tried it yet, but try this. It leaves a blank for START which you did not define and leaves off X which can only be provided in a Table, but is unnecessary, because you have the two nodes to provide the direction for the gap.

      R,_sid,FKN,GAP, ,FKS
