Difference between harmonic analysis and structural with a tabular remote displacement

      Hi all,

I wanted to apply a sinusoidal displacement to an assembly and while using harmonic analysis, I am getting max. stress values as low as 6e-6 MPa. I came across the idea of remote displacement and selected the non-fixed surfaces to apply the remote displacement values (static structural) tabulated from sine function.

      eg:

Harmonic analysis is linear dynamics, while static isn't accounting for dynamic response. Comparable cases would be transient case with sinusoidal displacement applied so you have time integration. Note that in static there is no time integration though there is the time column on the tabular data.n

Thank you for your fast response. I hope that means, each time step acts as an independent static analysis unlike in harmonic where the effect will be cumulative.n
