SubscriberHi I've been trying to recreate the purple mesh but am stuck on the wake meshing as shown in the zoomed in picture
Ive never seen a mesh with slanted lines before? I've been using ICEM and have gotten to the green mesh myself but trying to get the mesh to look similar in the wake with the slated lines is really confusing me?
thanks in advance

Ansys EmployeeHave a look at the various NACA tutorials in Ansys Help and online. The mesh you've shown isn't great, and I'd question any results produced.

SubscriberHi Rob, so I’ve been looking online but no one seems to have uploaded anything on generating a mesh like that, I mean with the skewed lines?
I managed to get the elements to decrease in size today, but slanted lines in the wake are still confusing me? -

Ansys EmployeeThe slanted lines are because you have a large number of cells on the small edge (wing) and more-or-less the same cell count on the long external edge. The Meshing tutorials are a little vague. I'd focus on using inflation and pave mesh to get a good resolution on the wing without getting an excessive cell count.

SubscriberHi Rob, what’s a pave mesh? I think inflation is just where you have the mesh get finer closer to the aerofoil

Ansys EmployeePave is an unstructured surface mesh, so you can have an unstructured hex surface mesh.
