Discovery AIM Licensing Issue

(Removed some customer specific information before posting)

Zimmer Biomet (ANSYS customer ) is currently running a trial of Discovery AIM version 2019R1. Our headquarters is in Indiana, which is where I am based.

A co-worker based in Florida recently received a new PC running Windows 10. He was able to install the ANSYS Discovery package on his new PC, but inadvertently set the license server to be his own PC.

In the past, I have been able to help users with this sort of problem by remotely accessing their PC, opening the ANSLIC_ADMIN utility, adding the correct server and removing the incorrect one. But this is not working. The ANSLIC_ADMIN utility gives a permissions error and will not allow the change.

I don't know if this is a Windows 10 issue or something else, but Uriel needs some help to continue his trial use of Discovery AIM.

I will be grateful if someone can reach out to Uriel directly and provide some assistance.

If there is anything I can do to help, please advise.

Can you locate "Client ANSLIC_ADMIN utility" from the Windows start menu, then right and select "Run as Administrator" and launch the application? Once opened, please click "Specify the License Server Machine" option and specify the correct license server. If the client utility is not opening due to permissions error, please check with your IT team if you have required admin rights needed for launching the application. If you are still getting any errors, please send a snapshot of the error message for further investigation.
