SubscriberHi Support ,
A customer is currently struggling to update to 2020R1.
When installing they get an error which doesn't say anything see below.
Things we have tried. Re-downloading the software in case of a faulty download. Un-installing everything first.
Completely removing /un-installing all ANSYS from the machine C drive and also Temp files before trying a fresh install. C:UsersYour pc nameAppDataLocalTemp.ansys
Install is always ran as ADMIN.
After the installation fails the only install log that appears is the one I attach.
There IT has looked into it and there are no firewalls or proxy that would block this.
They can install 2019R3 without any issue.
I have attached there now TEMP files but these look like they are all relevant to V195 version they installed.
🛈 This post originally contained file attachments which have been removed in compliance with the updated Ansys Learning Forum Terms & Conditions -

Ansys EmployeeHello Tim Dukes
While I discuss this issue with the team, could you please delete the following and try again
%APPDATA%Ansysv201
%APPDATA%SpaceClaim
C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalSpaceClaim
If that does not work, could you please send us a copy of the Windows Event Logs from Windows Event Viewer? Specifically, the System and Application logs.
To access Event Viewer please follow the below steps:
Open Control Panel > System Security>Administrative Tools> Event Viewer
Under Windows Logs > Application (or System). Select the logs and right-click to save selected events.
Once the files are saved zip the files and share it to ansys-discovery-support@ansys.com -
